A baby was strapped to my back, while another crawled around in the playpen. I worked 12 hour days for months sanding and stripping wallpaper and with just one child. Ha! It was all starting to form, but it wasn't quite finished. It would take lots of time and an enthusiasm for shopping. In order to stay in my budget I took my sons along to search for treasures in estate sales. It was a weekly tradition that we would go through garage and estate sales on Fridays and Saturdays and purchase a variety of new and old pieces. My next task was to spend the rest of my time painting and sanding outside in our driveway. It was kind of like the following... This is the place where my passion for in the process of restoring old furniture got started. Even though our home was furnished, I could not quit. I had a space in the market at my local location and sold pieces there. I eventually had numerous pieces that I did not have a clue what to do with them and outgrew the space. Then I began hosting open houses at my house which saw over 1 000 guests could visit in one weekend, and purchase anything they wanted on the ground floor. Growing Days was created in this home. My business was booming, but my family was also expanding. The balance between work and family was crucial to me. I wished to balance being a mother as well as a business owner who was successful. Growing Days seemed like the ideal combination. Nora my 4th child was born in 2013. I adored where my business was taking me, but I felt like I needed a break. I decided to stop working on my antique furniture and be at home with the kids. It was just what I wanted. It rang once more after several minutes. Calls came in asking me for help with decorating their homes and interiors. They were mostly people who came to my open house for furniture. In the following time I started taking on clients according to my schedule. Soon I had numerous accounts as well as a home renovations business. There is a good chance that I would have been laughing if I had been told that the company was to become the premise of an upcoming tv program that airs on the DIY Network. It's hilarious to look back about it.
